If you use the keyword "dyslexia" in one of the search engines (for example, Yahoo or Lycos) you'll get a lot of hits. It takes a while to look at them all, and many of them are not very useful -- but you might find some helpful ones. At the least, you'll get a lot of different perspectives on dyslexia. The International Dyslexia Association (IDA) is a good place to start. It has an active bulletin board, and sections for kids, parents and teachers.
The New York branch of the IDA sponsors an interesting web page designed by teenagers called Teens vs. Dyslexia.
The
Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators
is a nationwide (US) organization of educators who use Orton-Gillingham
methods for the remediation of Dyslexia. The Academy certifies
practitioners at various levels depending on their training and
experience. If you are looking for a tutor or academic therapist and
are unsure how to find a qualified one in your area, the Academy may
be able to help you. (There are no doubt other good organizations that
certify Orton-Gillingham practitioners, but this is the only one
with which I have direct experience.)
