Book Review: Erstes Internationales Meisterturnier des Schachverlages Kagan in Berlin 1920

Erstes Internationales Meisterturnier des Schachverlages Kagan in Berlin 1920. W. Kübel. Self-published. n.d.

This is a small booklet put together by a German chess enthusiast. It has forty-four lightly-annotated games from a small tournament at Berlin organised by the chess impressario Kagan in 1920, and won by Gyula Breyer. Notable games include Dr. Tarrasch's splendid victory over Tartakower (annotated by the winner in his die Moderne Schachpartie and by Réti in Masters of the Chessboard.)

Production values are very poor e.g. on p. 25, the fifth game, Mieses v. Tarrasch, is missing Black's fifth and White's sixth move (one can reconstruct them as 5...e6 and 6.g3 respectively).
