Book Review: Improve Your Game

Improve Your Game. Paul Lamford. Chameleon. 1999.

A somewhat misleading title: the book is actually a collection of 100 puzzles arranged into 10 chapters. I suppose solving chess puzzles is unlikely to hurt your game; but a collection needs to be bigger and more systematic to have much positive impact. As the blurb on the back explains, this book is aimed more at "the busy commuter or to occupy rainy days on holiday". As such, it succeeds in providing entertaining diversion for the chess fan.
