Not Feeling Good

Ah yes, now I remember why I don't drink much. I have absolutely no idea how much I drank last night but it was definitely more than the 2 pint limit I have adopted recently. I think that "limit" was exceeded many times over.

The night started with a call from my mother which further propelled me headlong into the bad books. I started the conversation by telling her that the call would have to be a quick one as I was having to desert my friends. Big mistake. I got a huge lecture on how she gave birth to me and blah blah blah. All she had to do was ring before I went out to meet my mates, is it really that much to ask that she just doesn't talk all night? Never mind.

We went to The Bay at the end of the evening but, worryingly, I can't remember being there. When I woke up I somehow knew I'd been, but I have no memories from The Bay other than 1. I can remember going to the toilet and desperately hoping I could be sick. Other than that I have no idea what happened. Funnily enough I can remember leaving The Varsity to go to The Bay and I can remember walking home from The Bay but there is just a big blank nothing in my head where The Bay should be. Very odd.

When I got home I had some water which made me feel very sick so I went to the bathroom, and it passed. Bloody hell. All I wanted to do was vomit so that I could feel a bit better. I must have fallen asleep on the bathroom floor for a while. I woke up very suddenly and was violently ill for quite some time. I was such a mess I was vomiting blood for a while, which I read up on. It's apparently caused by severe retching.

I sipped some more water and ate some Frucht Quark which was quite a sensible thing to do, considering how pissed I was. It's dairy based which is good because dairy products help soak up oxidants in the stomach (apparently) and it's cold which soothes the burning throat and mouth. Plus it tastes nice which takes away the awful taste of vomit and it's sweet which helps level the blood sugars out. So a very sensible decision everything considered.

This morning I woke up at 7 when the alarm on my phone went off. God only knows how I managed to set the alarm. I repeatedly used the "Snooze" button for the next 2 hours and had fitful, fractured sleep which was littered with weird dreams. I was an hour and a half late for work.

The hangover hasn't hit me yet, I'm still running on that awful sensation where the alcohol is still floating around in your system and you just know the hangover is coming...
