Bank balance just dropped to £2400 o/d. My limit is £1500. No idea where I'm going to get the money from to clear it, my parents aren't going to want to fork out £900 just to get me back within my overdraft limit.

Shit. Fuckedy shit wank arse bollocks shit.

Just Remembered

I wasn't feeling too great when I wrote my blog about giving blood and I forgot to write about something really weird that happened while I was there. When I first arrived they asked me to fill out some paperwork to make sure I wasn't likely to have Aids, HIV, Hepatitis or CJD. They then used that form to register me as a blood donor. To do this, of course, they need to take your name and address etc too, which was all done by a nurse. She took my surname, and asked how to spell it. Fair enough, there are several different spellings of my surname. Then my first name, and she asked whether it was "Matthew" or "Mathew". Then came the weird part. She looked at me and said, "and your middle name is Tom?"

"Thomas, yeah" I said. She wrote this down. Then, after a moment something occurred to me. I'd not told her my middle name was Thomas. Okay she'd not said Thomas exactly, but Tom is disturbingly close. "How'd you know that? Did I just tell you?" I thought perhaps there was a chance I had just told her and then instantly forgotten.

"No, you didn't tell me. It was just a guess."

Now that, in my opinion, is weird.

Bush Wins U.S. Elections

Kerry has admitted defeat, giving Bush another term. Oh god. What is wrong with the Americans? Why is it that the majority of them are determined to keep that twat in power? What has he done for them? Nothing. Words can't describe how angry I feel that that stupid bastard is still in power.

Well, I Did It

It stung a little when they took the blood, but it wasn't too bad. Been feeling a bit light-headed since. It's got to be worth it to save a life though. When I think about how many of my friends and family have had to have blood and how much they've needed, and I think that they probably wouldn't be here still if they hadn't had that blood...

Blooooooooooood

Just across the road at the PJM Amenity Block they are sucking blood out of people's arms. I've been saying for ages that I will give blood, and now that it's just across the road I have no excuse not to. I'm going to go and see if my blood is acceptable to them. Not looking forward to it, I've never veen a fan of needles (who is, afterall?) I just hope that it's worth my while and that my blood is okay.

Tannenbaum

Seems Andrew Tannenbaum has turned his attention to politics. http://www.electoral-vote.com was written and funded by him. I'm glad to see that he supports Kerry and not Bush. I hope that twat is kicked out in the elections tomorrow. Michael Moore has mobilised 1200 amateur film-makers in Florida in case of an attempted repeat of the 2000 elections, and thousands of voluntary lawyers (hey waddaya know, they're not all cunts after-all!) are flying to Florida to act as "Poll Watchers" and provide free legal aid to anyone refused the right to vote.

Yes, I know Kerry won't be much better than Bush. But anything has to be an improvement. The sooner that lunatic loses power the better.

Today I watched the first two parts of "The Power of Nightmares" which, if you haven't seen it, is a very well balanced documentary regarding the roots and origins of Terrorism. It explores whether the "terror network" that is talked about so much really does exist, and makes various points about how the terrorist groups came to exist. Seems America have been suspiciously close to almost all of them. It's well worth watching.

COMPOOTAH GWAFIKS

This guy is seriously doing my head in. Not only can I not understand a word he fucking says, but now he's describing huge mathematical formulae in light green on a white background on a crap projector. Someone pointed out it was invisible and asked him to write it on the board. He scribbled it on the board very quickly glossing over it, and finished with part of it behind the computer so we couldn't see it. Then he seemed to go off on some rant about "you should all be able to compoot the coosyne so don't complain when it comes to the exam".

I don't know why I bother turning up for his lectures. He's unintelligible.
