LoweyPages - The Next Inevitable Step

Lowey Predicts

This is a simple experiment. All I am attempting to do is predict the future. Each week I will produce one paragraph of text and put it here. Then, if it comes true I will produce a write-up to show that it has come true and include links to relevant sources (BBC News, most likely) that confirms this.

Prediction 5

A gun crime will shock the media.

[Bulldozer rampage gunman dead]

Prediction 4

Expect a big bang on Wednesday.

[Explosion like an 'earthquake']  The explosion happened on Tuesday so I was out by 1 day.

When I was writing this (and I know nobody will believe me) I did originally put Tuesday, but changed my mind when I realised that Tuesday was my birthday.  I know you don't believe me, I certainly wouldn't believe it if I was reading this but the whole thing is just a tad scary for me...

OLU's Replacement IY Student

The OLU recently held interviews for a replacement student to do the job of my colleague and I was asked to try and predict who would get the job as part of Lowey Predicts.  And I was right.  My psychic powers have been confirmed.  My boss was somewhat impressed as I correctly predicted who would be given the job 4 days before even he knew who he was going to give the job to.

Prediction 3

At least one youth will appear in court charged with a grave crime within the next month.

I can't claim to have seen any youths in court.  Looks like I was wrong about this one.

Prediction 2

The news will report a tragedy before my next prediction.  There will be a number of deaths.  This will be offset by good news on Friday.

[Scores killed in Basra bombings]  ...terrible news. :(  Nobody said predicting the future was fun though.
[Further drop in UK unemployment] A drop in unemployment is good news, but it's not quite of the magnitude I was hoping...still never mind. This is an experiment, after-all.

Prediction 1

Conflict between two old enemies may appear to begin to resolve, but the cracks will start to show once again. All is not lost, however. Strong leadership from one side may help, but headstrong opposition may throw a spanner in the works. Peace will eventually prevail.
