Updated 23/09/2019.
Another big update done to these pages, catching up with over a year's new rhymes. About eighty added and I've tidied the index a bit. I've semi-automated the updating process now, so it won't look like such a daunting task next time. If there is a next time. I think I've covered everything I wanted to say, now.

24/09/2019 Just added a random rhyme link at the top left. I've read that the html 'center' tag is deprecated. So I have something else to do for the next update.

Enough (is enough). The General Discussion is generally trivial and the deeper discussions go round in circles with no one able or willing to compromise. How could there be compromise, when the answer is going to be either yes or no? I guess I needed to remind myself what it's like. It seems worse than it was. Oh well. What now? Well something had to go. DS:GD consumed all my free time for the few months around the tenth anniversary of the poetry thread. My main job is becoming more demanding, so I have less free time anyway. Haven't touched any of my other interests and they're calling me for attention. (Updated 07/01/2018. 17 new rhymes added.) It was interesting joining in the looping discussions, variously based around the god concept, on the Digital Spy General Discussion forum. The software they're using is different. Difficult to use easily, for lengthy loopy discussions. Disappointing really, as the frustration it causes doesn't help ease the flow of writing. So I guess I'll simply post here on my own little site until they get their act together. Maybe I'll go back if they do.


I tire easily. Getting old I guess. Lots to do...


































This is an archive of all the rhymes I wrote as the UK Digital Spy forum member 'archiver'. Most were posted to the thread titled 'Is Poetry A Dead Art?' which contains poems by many fine contemporary poets, including hundreds by 'mr. mustard' who posed the original question.

It all started on the 3rd of November 2007 and is still running ten years later! My first contribution wasn't until the 7th of November, by which time the thread was already on its 17th page! Ah, the good old days :)


Some of my rhymes are pretty bad and may offend those who like good poetry. Be ready to cringe. I almost deleted several, which were somewhat embarrassing when I read them while putting the site together and testing, but I'd rather it remains fairly complete, so I do apologise for the worst ones. Some may seem offensive to those who hold to a religion, or have faith in a god, or gods. No apologies for those...

I doubt I'll write any more. Too many other interests. I'm no longer active on the forum* and it was the discussions there which inspired many of my poems. Which is why many may seem to have no meaning or relevance. They may have had some in the context of the day they were written and the discussions I was thinking about, so click the red titles to see something like the original.

I say "something like" because I noticed even more words are not permitted there now, and some of the old emoticons we used, now simply show their name, like ":Kitty:"...

* Well that was true when I wrote it, but I seem to have started reading some of the threads there again and contributing to a few, but I've missed some really interesting discussions and find I need to 'catch up'. So I guess I'll stick around there for a bit longer and post any new rhymes here as I write them.
