RACE: Region-based Atomic Contact Excluder

Provide input for RACE to zero ASA of atoms within user-defined spherical or cylindrical regions:

Type of region:
Spherical (specify reference point 1 only [center of sphere])
Cylindrical (specify reference points 1 & 2 [centers of circular faces])
Radius of region (Å):
Reference point: X-coordinate (Å): Y-coordinate (Å) Z-coordinate (Å)
1 (always required):
2 (for cylinder only):
Peptidic-structure ASA data (naccess-style format [e.g., generated using naccess via INCA]):

Notes:

  1. A spherical region can be used for a capsid-like hollow structure whose inner-surface lining residues are solvent-accessible but antibody- inaccessible.
  2. A cylindrical region can be used for a tubular structure (e.g., pore or channel) whose lining residues may be solvent-accessible but antibody- inaccessible.
  3. A cylindrical region can encompass the antibody-inaccessible (e.g., transmembrane and intracellular) atoms of an entire membrane-associated structure.
  4. The coordinates of reference point 1 are associated with the center of either a spherical region or one end (i.e., circular face) of a cylindrical region.
  5. The coordinates of reference point 2 are either ignored for a spherical region or associated with the center of the other end (i.e., circular face) of a cylindrical region.
